Professional educational program BBA Fundamentals of Management teaches students in a comprehensive form.

Fundamental Modules

  • Basics of Management

    The aim of this module is to apprise students of the basic concepts and tools of management, to define sequential and parallel management functions. To acquaint the student with the roles of a manager in the organization. Master the formal-logical side of the decision-making process and apply it all decisive aspects in the design of the organizational structure. Describe the ways in which the manager exercises his power and influence in the organization. Describe and define the basic elements of managerial motivation and communication.

  • Strategic management

    Strategy as a long-term plan provides long-term direction for corporate activities and predetermines success of organization in future. The module explains the importance of strategy and strategic management for organization. It discusses basic methods of evaluation of internal and external corporate environment and methods of strategy formulation and development.

  • Marketing communication and PR

    The aim of the module is to teach students the principles of marketing communications in today’s world of information and modern information technology. Students will learn the individual tools of commercial communications at the application level. Attention is to the PR issues as one of the forms of commercial and marketing communications. Emphasis is placed on the application of the communication mix within integrated marketing communications with an emphasis on 360-degree communication.
    The connection between theory and practice will be applied in teaching, especially the application of theory on practical examples from practice. The emphasis will be on efficient communication campaigns.

  • Business economics and Finance

    The aim of the module is to provide students with a basic understanding of economics and business finance at the level of BBA. Content of the module focus on firm’s goals, processes how to achieve them and introduces analytical techniques by which we can identify and solve financial management problems. Completion of the module will provide the basis for operational, investment and financial decisions in the company. The module contains topics such as financial management, financial analysis, risk and its impact on financial decision-making, strategy, working capital and liquidity management.

  • Personal development management

    The main objective of this module is to explain the issue of personal development, the different approaches and possibilities of personal development. This topic is particularly relevant now, in an era that requires constant development and the pushing of one’s own skills and abilities to a higher level.

    An essential prerequisite for effective personal development is, first of all, to know oneself and the areas important for a person. This topic is closely related to knowing our own strengths, limits and what and how we can realize ourselves.

    The management of personal development is intertwined with the theme of sustainability of one’s own life in order to achieve balance and the long-term benefits of personal development.

  • Project management and planning

    The module Project Management and Planning develops a foundation of concepts and solutions that supports the planning, scheduling, controlling, resource allocation, and performance measurement activities required for successful completion of a project. This module examines project management in a variety of global business settings. Included are project management methodologies and processes as well as culture, team building, and behavior management in a global context. Project management is examined as a set of best practices aimed at managing the total enterprise. Through a project management approach, corporate and organizational strategies are translated into project-level, value-adding elements of a company’s project portfolio.

Course of Study

  • To successfully complete the study, the student must complete a total of seven study modules, which are divided into two semesters of four and three modules. At the end of the study, the student prepares the final thesis.
  • Two seminars are held in the first semester, where students meet individual lecturers. Here they will acquaint students with the subject matter of individual modules and with the conditions of their completion.
  • In the middle of the semester, a second seminar is held, which covers the remaining two modules of the semester. In the second semester, there is always one seminar at the beginning, where there will be an explanation for all three modules of the semester. Students complete a total of three seminars during the entire study.
  • Interpretation for one module is in the range of three teaching hours (3x45 minutes).
  • The study of this program is taught in the English language.
  • The study is also implemented in a distance form - online communication means (e-learning). Students will find all the necessary information and study materials in the student section, which is the study intranet.
  • Throughout the study, students can consult with lecturers in various ways - by phone, inquiries through the student section, via e-mail communication, video conferencing or in person.
  • Students prepare for the fulfillment of study obligations by attending seminars, consulting with lecturers and self-study materials that are available in the student section.
  • The study is completed by elaboration of the final thesis and its subsequent defense.
  • As a bonus to study, the school now offers all its students library functions, including the functions of a modern online library. With free access to the online library, students are now provided with a collection of more than 1.000.000+ titles, available anytime, anywhere.

    ENG: PaedDr. Ing. Kateřina Bočková, Ph.D., MBA

    Currently a project manager for sport events and many organizational projects. She focuses her practical, scientific research, pedagogical and publishing activities on the economic - managerial area with an emphasis on project management. She currently works as an assistant professor at the DTI University in Dubnice nad Váhom and holds the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Management and Economics, where she comes into contact with many educational, organizational and research projects.

    She graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Brno University of Technology, majoring in Economics and Construction Management. As part of her postgraduate studies at the same faculty, she focused on the study and application of project management. She transferred her practical experience to the MBA graduation of a professional training program focused on project management. She received her pedagogical education in the study program Teacher Training in Economic Subjects.

    From 2002 to 2011 she was an assistant professor at the Faculty of Management and Economics of Tomas Bata University in Zlín. In the years 2004-2005 she lead there the Institute of Business Economics.

    She is author of many articles and publications in the field of project management, as well as several important books. She lectures in bachelor's, master's and MBA accredited study programs at home and abroad and is a lecturer in Project Management in several training and educational facilities.

    ENG: Ing. Yvona Charouzdová

    Ing. Yvona Charouzdová is currently the director of Talent Management Center International and also leads important projects in the field of leadership and talent management. As a trainer, she specializes in workshops focused on improving the quality of human resources, leading specialized trainings focused on the strategic development of human resources, remuneration and intercultural management of companies. Coaches top managers with excellent results.

    She gained work experience in the field of consulting, where her activities included finding top managers, middle management and specialists. Other activities were the management of top consulting projects in the field of human potential management development (development and implementation of evaluation and motivation systems, performance-based remuneration, management and personnel audits and organizational consulting). In the banking environment, she focused on the concept of educational projects, which she lectured on a pilot basis.

    She studied at universities in Prague and Great Britain, then expanded her education at professionally oriented seminars in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Italy.

    The University Teacher at the University of Economics in Prague specializes in management, knowledge management, managerial leadership and systemic approaches to management. In these areas, she is the author of several monographs and a number of articles published in renowned foreign scientific journals.

    ENG: Ing. Nikola Rosecká

    Ing. Nikola Rosecká is Ph.D. student at the Department of Strategy, Faculty of Business Administration, Prague University of Economics and Business. She specializes in family businesses, with the doctoral dissertation focusing on conflicts in family firms. She is the author and co-author of six publications and conference papers in the field of family businesses, mainly focused on conflicts, role of non-family managers, long-term orientation and CSR. In addition to academic activity and research projects, she focuses on insolvency proceedings and work as credit risk specialist in bank industry.

    ENG: doc. Ing. Miroslav Špaček, Ph.D., MBA

    Doc. Ing. Miroslav Špaček, Ph.D., MBA works as a consultant and expert for the corporate sector. He has a rich history, holding top management positions in the industrial sector, namely in the fields of chemistry, pharmacy and facility management.

    At present, he specializes mainly in scenario and simulation approaches to risk analysis of investment projects, post-audits of investment projects, corporate performance management, innovation management, strategic, process and crisis management.

    He is a graduate of the University of Chemical Technology in Prague, the Prague International Business School and the University of Economics in Prague. In 2015, he received a professorship in the field of business economics and management.

    He is the author and co-author of many monographs, scientific and professional texts focused on investment decisions, business economics and corporate management.

  • ENG: Mgr. Tomáš Zdražil

    ENG: Mgr. Tomáš Zdražil

    During his studies at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín, he was involved in various projects focused on marketing communication in the media. After graduating in 2004, he joined the marketing department of DHL Express, which he has been in charge of since 2007.

    In addition to marketing itself, DHL company is also responsible for internal and external communication, PR and projects aimed at SME customers and building a corporate culture among employees.

    His main interests are travelling and sports.
